The matter is of somewhat more than local Toronto interest because one of the prime candidates for the position was James Mark Baldwin, who would later go on to become a noted evolutionary theorist, a revolutionary developmental psychologist, and a major player in the early American Psychological Association and the early psychology journals. Features a replication of the famous Kenneth & Mamie Clark study in which black and white children were presented with black and white dolls and asked which they preferred, which were good, and which were most like themselves. The original study was crucial evidence in the 1954 Board v. Brown court case that resulted in the Supreme Court's landmark school desegregation decision. It is the Dilley sextuplets who, as preschoolers are brought in and given 4 M&Ms and told that if they wait 4 minutes they will get 8 M&Ms. All 6 delay gratification, which is unusual, but it is a great video of some of the strategies they use to do so. Not sure if anyone else has had the problem of the college/school blocking www.youtube.com due to bandwidth restrictions. You can download the .flv file and upload it to www.teachertube.com (there are several psychology related videos alread up, just search psychology). Another method is to download the file to your harddrive via www.keepvid.com and then convert it to either Divx (recommended) or another playable format.
