Resource
of the Week of January 25, 2009
This week's resource is great for the therapy module of your course. The blog called "In Therapy" helps clients get the most from their therapy. It features several topics regarding advice giving, boundaries and termination in therapy. An added interesting feature that could be really utilized in Psych classes is that the writer, Ryan Howes conducts a "Seven Questions" series which asks theorists, popular authors and policymakers about the fundamentals of therapy. For example he has interviewed Donald Meichenbaum, John Gray, David Burns and Harriet Lerner as guests. His upcoming guests will include David Schnarch, Harville Hendrix, Judith Beck, Daniel Amen and Irvin Yalom.
Perhaps and interesting activity could be to have students analyze the different personalities of the interviewed therapists via the five factor model. You could kill two birds with one stone.
You can find the blog here: http://blogs.psychologytoday.com/blog/in-therapy
I am sure many of you have similar great activities
that you use in your classes and it would be great to have your
resources to share with others on this site. Please email me with
