Frequently Asked Questions

*Do I have to get permission to add to the site?

No, this site may be freely modified by anyone.

*Can I be sure of the accuracy of the information on this site?

No, just as with wikipedia the information supplied may or may not be supplied by knowledegeable individuals. If you find inaccuracies, please modify them.

*Can I add pages to the site?

Yes, you can add pages to the wiki portion of the site, but not the mainpage. I have created the main page because I felt it offered a cool entry way. :) If you would like to add a link to the main page, please email amysweetman@earthlink.net and a link will be created within 24 hours.

*Can I upload pages to the site?

Yes, however there are a few stipulations. First, the uploads cannot exceed 50 Kb. This is relatively small so many images will not load. However, document files and pdf. files should be fine.

The way to upload a page is to click on edit at the top right hand corner of the page that you wish to upload to.

1. Type this command [[(Attach:)title that you want.extension abbreviation ]] For example [[(Attach:)resume.pdf ]] or [[(Attach:)syllabus.doc]]

2.Scroll to the bottom click on save- When the page reappears you will see your command with a delta (triangle) symbol next to it

3. Click on it. This will prompt a browse window to come up and ask where to find the attached file, find the file on your computer, select it and click on upload.

You must then click on edit the page link (located in the middle of the page) and select save again for the attached file to display properly.

(Note you may also do this process in a different order by clicking on the attach link on the top left hand corner of the page, which will ask you which file you want to attach, select it and click upload. Then enter the [[(Attach:)title that you want.extension abbreviation ]] formatting in your document.)

If you need help with this process, just send the file to amysweetman@earthlink.net and I will post it for you.

Another alternative is to create a webpage and link it to the site. You can easily create webpages by using Microsoft word and saving your document as a webpage and then opening a free webspace account with yahoo geocities. (note the page will contain adds and if you have images on the page, you must not only upload the webpage, but also the images that you wish to include.

* How do I link to an external page from the website?

If you click on the basic editing feature at the bottom of the edit screen, it will provide instructions, but what you do is simply put double brackets around the url address for example

[[//http://www.apa.org/]]

*Can I create a link that will open in a new window?

Yes, use this formatting.

%newwin%http://www.example.com/

* Can I create a link that does not show the web address, but just has a text title?

Yes, use this formatting

[[//http://www.apa.org/ | APA]]

* Can I create an email me link?

Yes, use this formatting

[[mailto:myaddress@example.com | email me]]

* Can I upload podcasts?

I AM currently learning about podcasts. At this time, I would recommend just using a link from your own posting site for the podcasts. In the future, I will have more details listed. If you would like to upload your podcast on your own, the information may be found on the PM wiki website
